God took Israel off the map and then He brought them back.

Verdana – Some people are content to say, “This is America, maybe we do go a ways back with God. Hey, I’m even one of the – what is it now – eighty something percent that identifies myself as a Christian. The reason we’re not mentioned in all that end times stuff in the Bible is because all us good people get taken up – raptured.”

Few of us take the warning seriously of what happened to a people in the Old Testament. It has to do with the kings of Israel. Remember Saul didn’t fully obey God. His kingdom went to David. He was a man after God’s own heart, but he had more than one wife and strife in the family made things difficult. Solomon took the throne and he had many more wives, many of them foreign and he made it possible for them to worship their gods and the asked them to worship with them. Thus began the downward spiral. Not all was well in Israel. Solomon’s son Rehoboam became king over Judah while Jeroboam ruled over Israel. Jeroboam installed idolatry in a big way. Now Judah wasn’t immune, idolatry seeped over there, too. Some kings weren’t too bad, Asa of Judah, Jehoshaphat of Judah, Jehu of Israel, Jehoiada (as a steward of Joash) of Judah, Joash of Judah, … Well I see a pattern there. Only one king of Israel mentioned in 1st and 2nd Kings did good in God’s eyes. Hosea was the last king of Israel, and he did evil in the sight of the Lord.

2 Kings 17:7 – 23 explains it all. Jeroboam installed idolatry in a big way. Israel fell for it hook, line and sinker. Judah had many kings that did well in his sight, but few of them did away with the idolatry as God had ordered the Israelites when Joshua led them into the land of Canaan. The nation of Israelites and several tribes thereof were conquered. We may have Israel on our maps, but even Judah was conquered eventually. Let us take this warning to heart. Just because we identify ourselves with God does not mean we are always on His good side. Israel literally means “wrestles with God”. Judah sounds like “praise”. Amerigo (from whence comes America) means “home ruler” in Italian.

If we go our own way, we’ll soon follow the tracks of Israel. Don’t think for a second God won’t do it in this modern world. God accomplishes His will by any means He chooses. It is by His grace we are still here and have prospered for blessing His people and supporting them according to His will. Should He remove his hand from us, we’d soon be torn apart by ourselves and our enemies. Let me remind you that there is a king yet.

His kingdom is not of this world, but many in this world are members of it. Over eighty percent of America considers itself to be members of this kingdom. This king is Christ Jesus, a descendant of King David. When the events of Revelation come true, which could be any day now at the rate things are going – nobody knows for sure, we will see Him in all His glory. America has two choices. Prepare herself for the glory of meeting her one and true King or join the world’s king and fight against him. Let me warn you, I’ve read the end of the book and the victory goes to Christ Jesus and his forgiven and faithful army that recognized that they could only be made good by their king’s sacrifice as a suffering servant when He first walked the earth.

...Anyway, that's just how I feel about it ... What do you think?
