My Boss is a Jewish Carpenter

Eras Medium ITC – At my old church, one woman happened to mention that one day another woman stopped her in the parking lot and asked her if her boss didn’t mind her bumper sticker that stated: “My Boss is a Jewish Carpenter.” Everybody got a good laugh, but here’s what I would have answered her:

“No, He doesn’t mind at all. In fact, He gave me that sticker just so people would ask. Can I tell you more? … First of all His name is Jesus Christ. After leaving the family business, He became a Jewish religious teacher – a rabbi. His public ministry lasted only three years. He walked all over Israel teaching the people using parables. He cured the sick, gave sight to the blind, and did many other miracles, including raise the dead. He spent the last week of His life in Jerusalem during the Passover Festival. He rode in and the people praised Him. He drove out money changers from the temple. He taught the people. Then He was betrayed by Judas Iscariot. After a travesty of justice and another person was pardoned, Jesus was beaten and then crucified and the people cursed Him. Afterwards, He was ressurected. The Bible records that He appeared before His disciples and hundreds of others. He stayed with them, teaching them, before He ascended to Heaven. He has promised to come back soon. Are you ready for Him?”

1 Peter 3:13-16, “13Who is going to harm you if you are eager to do good? 14But even if you should suffer for what is right, you are blessed. “Do not fear what they fear; do not be frightened.” 15But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect, 16keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against your good behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander.”

  1. ….wait a minute… his name wasn’t Jesus Christ…. there is no “J” in Hebrew and Christ is a Greek word, loosely translated as anointed one. Other than that point …-I approve this message-
