Keeping Busy

Colonna MT – After we accept Jesus into our lives, we’re given a blank slate. Now what? A good place to start is by following after Jesus every day. He was an example to us in the things that we could and should do.

He went
He cured
He helped
He prayed
He taught
He preached
He instructed
He was baptized
He had compassion
He spoke on faith
He told the truth
He ate with sinners
He called disciples
He clarified the Bible
He resisted the devil by quoting scripture
He drove out money changers and sellers from the House of God
He withdrew to solitary places to get some alone time in with God the father

All of these things are recorded in Matthew alone, so once we’ve finshed this liste we can move on to Mark, Luke, and John. Needless to say, it’ll keep us busy awhile so while we’re working out our faith and writing on our slate we won’t need to ask, ‘now what?’.

The Beautitudes alone give further instructions about things that we should and shouldn’t do.

do not judge
(do) ask, seek, and knock
do not worry about tomorrow
(do) be kind and speak kindly
(do) store up treasures in heaven
(do) enter through the narrow gate
(do) put these words into practice
(do) recognize people by their fruit
Do good deeds and let your light shine
(do) practice and teach the commandments
(do) let your yes be yes and your no be no
do unto others as you would have them do unto you
(do) first reconcile and then settle matters quickly
do not give what is sacred to those who would destroy it
(do) go above and beyond fulfilling things expected of you
(do) love your enemies, pray for your persecutors, and be perfect
(do) fast, pray, and give to the needy, but don’t make a big deal out of it

The bible is relevant to both old and young children of God. It is all the more so when we see ourselves as the wise buidlers who not only put our house on the rock, but put these words into practice and taught others to do so. This is only a start, from one section of only a few chapters of one book, so lets continue on from here and not stop.

...Anyway, that's just how I feel about it ... What do you think?
