A lot of people seem to focus on how mean the God of the Old Testament seemed to be to point out the difference on how nice the God of the New Testament is. Sure, he spared Rahab and her family when Jericho was destroyed. When the Gibeonites tricked the Israelites, He agreed to let them go, too. We all have read how Jesus didn’t condemn a woman caught in the act of a certain sin. You see, God has compassion for His creation. Not just in Biblical stories, either, but in real life. Only you know how God has shown compassion for you.
2 Peter 3:8-9, “8But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. 9The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.”
