(So we’ve had a busy day. The guys got an early start on roofing, just enough to get everything set up. By the time we joined them it was time for me to get to work. My main task was opening the bundles, seperating the shingles, and handing them to my little brother. Now the night before we had managed to get only a few rows done and I had suggested that instead of doing it one row at a time, we ought to do three or four rows because the pattern called for staggering. That is exactly what we ended up doing today. In fact, we would do six rows up and across. In this way we got much more done and saved our feet from all that pain. Most of the crew was ready to call it quits – enough though I wasn’t – so the work stopped when the sun started baking the roof. So the second half of the day was spent shopping. We happily stumbled over ST:VOY, and all of us will soon be watching its first season.
