Assurances

Of course, when I say guarantee, I expect you to look up God’s word on the matter. You’ll find such verses as:
2 Corinthians 21-22, “21Now it is God who makes both us and you stand firm in Christ. He anointed us, 22set his seal of ownership on us, and put his Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come.”
2 Corinthians 5:5, “5Now it is God who has made us for this very purpose and has given us the Spirit as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come.”
Ephesians 1:11-14, “11In him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will, 12in order that we, who were the first to hope in Christ, might be for the praise of his glory. 13And you also were included in Christ when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation. Having believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, 14who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession—to the praise of his glory.”
In Christianity, it is said that we shouldn’t make a doctrine out of just one verse. These three verses all say the same thing – we have been given the Holy Spirit as a deposit that guarantees our inheritance from our heavenly father.

John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

All it takes is belief. It’s a big step, I know, I took it once, and I’ve been walking in faith ever since. Where else will you find the words of salvation? What deity can keep these promises? How do I know that the best and worst Christian alike will enter heaven? This passage gives us a glimpse into the process:

1 Corinthians 10-15, “10By the grace God has given me, I laid a foundation as an expert builder, and someone else is building on it. But each one should be careful how he builds. 11For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ. 12If any man builds on this foundation using gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay or straw, 13his work will be shown for what it is, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each man’s work. 14If what he has built survives, he will receive his reward. 15If it is burned up, he will suffer loss; he himself will be saved, but only as one escaping through the flames.”

We have more than enough grace to around, and our God has given us a guarantee on our tickets to Heaven. Nice, isn’t it?

...Anyway, that's just how I feel about it ... What do you think?
